Over two million Bank of Ireland transactions carried out at Post Offices

Bank of Ireland customers have conducted 2.35 million banking transactions, with over €1 billion in cash transactions, in post offices nationwide since the launch of the Banks’s partnership with An Post two years ago.

The partnership between Bank of Ireland and An Post enables customers to carry out a range of banking services, including cash (notes and coin) lodgements and withdrawals and cheque lodgements, with over 140,000 transactions now completed each month at c900 post offices nationwide.

Celebrating the two-year anniversary of the partnership, Susan Russell, CEO Retail Ireland, Bank of Ireland said: “We are delighted to see our partnership with An Post going from strength to strength, providing access to cash and other banking services to customers nationwide. With over two million transactions recorded in the past two years, the partnership is working exceptionally well and there is strong demand for our services provided through the extensive An Post network.”

Debbie Byrne, Managing Director of An Post Retail said: “Reaching this milestone of over two million transactions underlines our commitment to providing access to cash and everyday banking services in c900 Post Offices across the country and on our islands. Our strategy continues to create a sustainable post office network innovating with new product and services. Our successful partnership with Bank of Ireland ensures citizens and small businesses can do their daily banking, lodging and withdrawing cash with ease six days a week.”
The large footprint of post office locations (c900), complemented by Bank of Ireland’s 169 branch network, allows customers carry out their banking requirements in almost 1,100 locations around the country.
