The Council has been set up to promote the development of common industry standards for cloud services in the enterprise market in a collaborative effort to reduce buyer risk and resistance.

Other members include Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Alcatel-Lucent, Amdocs, AT&T, BT, CA, Cisco, EMC, HP, IBM, Microsoft, Nokia Siemens Networks, Telecom Italia and Telstra.

Kelley's appointment demonstrates solid commitment by one of the world's leading banks to the take-up of cloud technology. Late last month, Deutsche Bank was named alongside Bank of America as part of a CBA-led tech buyer's alliance designed to push down prices charged by tech industry heavyweights and encourage take-up of shared applications through the cloud.

Says Kelley of his new role: "The ECLC allows Deutsche Bank to actively participate in removing the risks associated with cloud services through industry standards that create an open and exciting market. I am extremely pleased to be part of the TM Forum's Cloud Services Initiative and the ECLC; an industry group that listens to enterprise and assists the entire eco-system to reap the enormous business benefits of Cloud Services."
