For every card transaction Tyl by NatWest merchants take, Tyl donates a portion of the revenue to the Giveback Community Fund. The more transactions taken, the larger the fund grows, and the more Tyl is able to help communities where the money is needed most.

The Giveback Community Fund supports over 40 unique charities and causes including Hospice UK, Macmillan Cancer Support and The Prince’s Trust. The fund also supports charities local to Tyl by NatWest customers such as Marie Curie in London, St Helena Hospice in Colchester, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust.

Recent research by Pennies reveals that 73% of consumers still prefer to give ‘little and often’, despite tighter personal budgets and rising costs. This demonstrates the generosity and willingness of shoppers to spend with businesses they know are making a difference. In turn, this enables businesses to contribute to society in an impactful way. By partnering with Tyl by NatWest for their payment needs, businesses contribute to the growth of the Tyl Giveback Community Fund, supporting charitable organisations instantly. Tyl by NatWest ensures the process is hassle free, as no additional admin or costs are required from businesses.

The Tyl Giveback fund celebrated a milestone of £300k in Spring 2022 and has since amassed an additional £200k. This new milestone comes as shoppers continue to rally behind their local high streets through economic downturn. Tyl by NatWest donated a record £164,000 to local charities such as Cambridge Women’s Aid, Sea Change Sailing Trust, and The Knights Foundation in 2022 alone.

Mike Elliff, CEO of Tyl by NatWest says: “The Giveback Community Fund continues to be at the heart of what Tyl stands for, and we are incredibly proud to have raised so much for those in need. Our partnership with Pennies has enabled us to bring onboard even more worthy causes from around the UK, so the Tyl Giveback Fund can help more communities thrive. We are very pleased to see increased support for smaller organisations that may not attract significant charity funding.

“The Giveback Community Fund was created to ensure that supporting local charities is seamless and as easy as it can be. Businesses can carry on prioritising their customers, safe in the knowledge the Giveback Fund is automatically growing in the background.”

In October 2021, Tyl by NatWest won the Pennies Breakthrough Award in recognition of Tyl’s Giveback Community Fund, with the aim of the fund providing inspiration to any small business looking to embed a CSR strategy.
