The package comprises of Hyperion's Essbase, Analyzer, Planning and Performance Scorecard applications.

By building a scorecard approach for the business, Hyperion says the software will allow senior staff at AIB to gain access to top-level business trends, whilst allowing other managers to analyse information at levels appropriate to their role.

In particular AIB Group intends to use the Hyperion software to support the roll out of a customer-centric operations model at its Republic of Ireland branches.

Tom O'Brien, senior manager, financial control, AIB Group, says: "We wanted to build a balanced scorecard approach to managing the business. We therefore needed a solution that would allow managers at any level to be able to analyse or drill down to the requisite level of information in order to improve decision making."

O'Brien says the group previously had to manually intervene with the data, which resulted in increased resource overhead, as well as the potential for errors.

The software will initially be rolled out to 200 users - including 280 Republic of Ireland branch managers along with five or six portfolio managers per branch. Ultimately 6000 staff will use the software across AIB's global operations.
