The two companies say they intend to create a global professional services firm offering expertise in the delivery of business and systems solutions to the investment management sector. London-based Citisoft claims more than 75% of the top 50 global asset managers as clients.

Jonathan Clark, executive director of Citisoft says the merger will help meet client demands for local servicing on global projects. "By merging with Boston-based The Rowan Group we immediately establish a very strong presence in North America," he says. "From this base we will be able to extend our offering of professional, client and result focussed consulting services to US and global investment managers.

The Rowan Group was founded in 2001 by Tom Secaur, Marc Mallett and Dan Houlihan, formerly of Thomson Financial's Professional Services Group.
