Spain's CaixaBank has started using artificial intelligence in its online employee training platform to help tailor learning to individual staffers.

The bank's Virtaula training platform has information on each employee, identifying the things they are interested in and recommending tailored courses in areas such as languages, executive skills, digital skills, finance, and risk management.

Most of the courses have been designed for CaixaBank by benchmark institutions and training centres in different disciplines, and range from university postgraduate level to short-duration intensive sessions.

As well as using AI to identify suitable training, the bank has developed a chatbot, which will interact with staffers using natural language to help them locate relevant training content, at any time.
