PayPal says the additions extend its services to more than 120 million people and brings the total number of localised sites to 18.

The firm has also introduced new PayPal domains for 18 countries - including Argentina, Chile, Hungary, India, Luxembourg, Malta, The Philippines, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Sweden, Taiwan, Turkey and Venezuela - that display relevant information and products available in that country.

Nine new languages on its site - Bahasa Indonesian, Danish, Norwegian, Portuguese, Russian, Swedish, Thai, Traditional Chinese and Turkish - have also been added.

Philipp Justus, SVP, global markets, PayPal, says: "These new Web sites and languages benefit consumers by making it even easier to buy from merchants around the world and expands our merchants' access to millions of PayPal account holders, just as we reach the busy Holiday season."
