Lebanese banking group Credit Libanais has licensed Misys Retail Banking Systems' Equation system to support its retail banking operations.
Credit Libanais says the new system will increase operational efficiency and will enable it to move a "significant" number of staff from back office processing to front office customer service.
Antoine Raad, deputy general manager, IT division head, Credit Libanais, says the bank will also use the technology to deliver Islamic banking products and services to customers.
The vendor says Equation will be implmented to improve credit control and management at the bank through centralised real-time limit checking and exposure updates.
Misys says it has more than 70 clients in the Middle East, including 10 in Lebanon.
