Paperless direct debits to help landlord maximise income through Universal Credit

November 7, 2013

In a bid to maximise its income collection ahead of Universal Credit, 10,000-home North Lincolnshire Homes (NLH), part of ongo, has opted to use allpay’s paperless Direct Debit service, allowing it to set-up new instructions over the phone and providing its residents with full flexibility on payment dates and frequencies.

NLH previously managed its Direct Debits in-house but wanted to provide further flexibility with its arrangements to increase take-up among residents.

The housing provider already uses allpay’s services for debit/credit card processing and cash collection via its network agreements with the Post Office and PayPoint.

Holly Wilson, VFM & Procurement Manager, Business Improvement at NLH, said:

“Having canvassed the market for a solution, allpay’s web-based system was the easiest and most straightforward to administer whereas other suppliers wanted to implement software on our servers."

“We already use allpay’s payment collection technology and find it integrates with our systems and has a proven track record. The costs of allpay’s Direct Debit service were also competitive and the system will help us increase take-up among residents through Universal Credit.”
